2018 “The Belt and Road”: New Bidding Awards

Recently, Fujian Electric Power Engineering Company has won the bid of two power transmission and transformation projects offered by National Grid Corporation of Philippines, setting a record of total bid amount in the projects contracted with the Philippines.

It is reported that EPC indicates general contracting of Engineering, Procurement and Construction, also known as turnkey general contracting. General contractor enterprises undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, trial operation and services of projects in accordance with the contract, and take full responsibility for the quality, safety, construction period and cost of contracted projects, which is one of the most important modes of general contracting implemented in China.

The two projects won by Fujian Electric Power Engineering Company from the Philippines refer to EPC General Contracting Project of Cebu Substation (PhaseⅡ) and EPC General Contracting Project of 500 kV Substation in Tuy-Dasmarinas. Lin Bingrun, general manager of Fujian Electric Power Engineering Company, said“this bidding means a good start for market development in Southeast Asia this year and also marks a breakthrough in international business development model for our company”. The company thoroughly implements the national initiative of“The Belt and Road” and increases its efforts in deepening the overseas market. This successful bidding is a rich fruit resulting from strength and reputation by implementing the development strategy to form an international market pattern of “Wings Flying” in Southeast Asia and South America in the coming year, actively improving the comprehensive capacity of EPC power transmission and distribution and enhancing the company’s competitiveness in the development of power transmission construction and even overall power construction.

Lin Bingrun said that Fujian Electric Power Engineering Company started to develop business in the Philippines at the earliest time. Since 2007, the company has contracted seven projects of 230 kV Concepcion-Clark transmission lines and built several important hub substations such as 230 kV Davao Substation and 350 kV Karabongka DC Station in the Philippines, first becoming the qualified general contractor certified by National Grid Corporation of Philippines. In accordance with the overall layout of overseas business development, the company summarizes development experience of over 10 years in the Philippines and will continue to work hard.

It is reported that, in recent years, Fujian Electric Power Engineering Company has exerted more efforts to overseas contracting and developed new markets in South America and Africa. In addition, the company has won the bid of EPC project to upgrade National Power Grid of Bangladesh – a country along “The Belt and Road”.
